They have a free book available for download right now, which seems to offer some good techniques. I’ll be perusing it this weekend and implement some of the tips.

What I realized was that my memory could use some work. Sure, I thought it was pretty decent. I’m all right with numbers, I’m never below “average” on the memory test games, and I know what month it is. But clearly, there is room for improvement. So I have decided to meet the problem head on, as is my custom.

First, I need a goal. The 52-cards-in-under-a-minute feat always impressed me, I’ll start with that.

Goal Number One: Memorize a deck of cards in under 2 minutes with 100% accuracy.

License plates and names also need my attention.

Goal Number Two: Remember 10 faces and their associated names, the next day.

Goal Number Three: Recall 5 license plates and their vehicles, from various countries, the next day.

These are my goals. Next, the plan of attack. I’ll use various internet resources, faithfully link to them on this blog, as well as create my own Javascript tools to practice these feats of memory. I’ll make whatever I create fully public, and log my progress accordingly (hopefully with some neat graphs).

Joe Everyman should be able to show up, grab some info, see how it was put into use, grab some memory tools, and suddenly we’ll have a race of superbeings with elevated mental powers running around. The blog – and the superbeings – will evolve from there.
